Financial Resource Development Internship

FINANCIAL RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT INTERNSHIP

Our fundraising and resource development team is expanding to meet the needs of Good Counsel. We seek financial resource development interns to manage donors, draft grant proposals, plan and execute fundraising strategies, and develop the future of Good Counsel’s financial success. 

At this time, Good Counsel Services is unable to pay our interns, but we are happy to work with students’ schools for academic credit or outside funding.

Intern Responsibilities May Include:

  • – Assist resource development project work: create campaigns, meet with clients, explore potential fiscal sponsorship ventures.
  • – Brainstorm, oversee, and evaluate fundraising strategies
  • – Monitor grant pipeline, research foundational donor history, and draft grant proposals
  • – Lead community workshop programs for emerging entrepreneurs
  • – Prepare documents and testimonies for annual submission to Candid, CharityNavigator, and other 501(c)(3) rating agencies
  • – Update and utilize Bloomerang platform (think: Salesforce for nonprofits) to manage donors, fundraising campaigns, etc. 
  • – Collaborate with marketing team as needed

Qualifications of the Ideal Candidate:

  • – Strong written communication skills
  • – Excellent time management and comfortable with tight deadlines 
  • – Communicates constantly with supervisor and team members
  • – Proactively seeks out new opportunities for GCS FRD
  • – Unafraid to contribute during team discussions
  • – Eagerness to learn and develop professionally
  • – Experience working with CRMs / donor management software

Good Counsel Services is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides solutions to complex startup issues for entrepreneurs and nonprofits driving social good. We offer affordable resources to help our clients achieve their missions and business goals. Our services include legal assistance, fundraising support, marketing consulting, and accounting services.  

By joining our team of interns, students and career-oriented individuals immerse themselves in the world of social innovation, advocacy, and entrepreneurship. We offer extensive education and training in each of our core service areas, including hands-on work experience and networking opportunities with our clients and cohorts, along with pro bono immigration advocacy work. 

The Good Counsel internship is designed to provide emerging professionals with tools for professional development and personal growth. Applicants must be organized, responsible, able to multitask, and harbor a passion for social good. Each intern is responsible for a dedicated workload and is considered an integrated member of the team. We provide you with agency—help us make a difference. 

Scheduling & Internship Structure:

This position is remote. We are flexible with your availability, but we expect a commitment of at least 3 months with a minimum contribution of 8 hours per week. 

The start date is negotiable. Attendance at one of our bi-weekly stand-up meetings (Mondays 10:30 EST & Thursdays 16:15 EST) is strongly encouraged. 

All FRD interns report directly to the FRD Lead, but are encouraged to maintain close contact with our Executive Director.
